Report: Dempster, Davis Moving On

According to an anonymous source, the Julian Javelina have finalized trades that will send starting pitcher Ryan Dempster and first baseman Ike Davis to new teams once the 2012 Winter Meetings officially open for business on Saturday. While the trading partners and specific compensation are not yet known, it is believed both have been traded for picks in the first seven or eight rounds of the upcoming draft. The same source suggested GM Jamie Hoyle might look to add a contract during the meetings, but also said the team is content to stand pat should the cost of doing so prove prohibitive.
